SOLID WOOD CHARACTERISTICS

Solid Wood Characteristics
This product is crafted from solid wood, valued for its durability and natural beauty. Solid wood naturally responds to its surrounding environment over time, and slight movement and imperfections are inherent characteristics of the material. Despite careful craftsmanship, changes in temperature and humidity may cause minor gaps, hairline cracks, or slight warping. These are natural characteristics of solid wood and are not considered defects.

FAQs About Solid Wood Furniture

Why does the wood grain or color look different from the product photos?

Solid wood is a natural material, and each piece has its own grain patterns, color variations, and distinctive details. Differences in lighting, photography, and screen settings may also affect how the wood appears. As a result, the actual product may vary slightly from the images shown.

Can solid wood develop cracks, gaps, or warping over time?

Yes. Solid wood naturally expands and contracts in response to changes in temperature and humidity. These changes may cause minor gaps, hairline cracks, or slight warping over time.

How should I care for and maintain solid wood furniture?

Wipe the surface regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid harsh chemicals, alcohol-based cleaners, and abrasive materials that may damage the finish. Use coasters or heat-resistant mats under hot drinks and dishes, clean up spills promptly, and keep the furniture away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive moisture, and sources of heat.

How do temperature and humidity affect solid wood?

Wood naturally absorbs and releases moisture from the surrounding air. Excessively dry conditions may cause it to shrink or crack, while high humidity may lead to swelling or warping. We recommend maintaining indoor relative humidity between 40% and 65% and keeping the furniture in an environment with relatively stable temperature and humidity.

Are natural knots, mineral streaks, and other wood variations considered defects?

No. Natural knots, mineral streaks, variations in grain and color, and other distinctive markings are inherent characteristics of solid wood. These features contribute to the unique appearance of each piece and are not considered defects. However, damage that affects the product’s structural integrity or normal use should be assessed separately.
