Pamplona Shearling Chair

Yes — the three legs are a structural choice, not a shortcut. A tripod always sits flat: three points define a plane, so the chair never rocks on an uneven floor the way a four-leg chair does. The load path here runs through a bent solid red oak frame that carries the arc backrest and the armrests as one continuous piece, so the weight you put into the backrest is transferred down the frame rather than into a single joint. Place it on a level surface and it will feel planted from the first sit. We don't publish a tested weight rating for this chair yet — if you need that figure, contact us before ordering.

It's compact — 21" wide by 21" deep, so it takes less table edge than most armchairs. Allow about 24" of table edge per seated person as a working rule, which means this chair's 21" width leaves room for a comfortable setting rather than a squeeze. Behind the chair, leave 30–36" of clearance so people can push back and stand without hitting a wall or sideboard. The arms sit at 26.6", so check your table apron height if you plan to tuck the chair fully underneath.

Vacuum and brush it regularly; spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap — never soak it. Run a vacuum with the upholstery attachment over the seat and back every week or two to lift dust and crumbs before they work into the pile, then brush the wool with a soft pet brush to keep it lofted. For spills, lift solids off first with a spoon rather than rubbing them in, then blot with a damp sponge and a small amount of mild detergent and pat dry with a towel. Avoid enzyme detergents, bleach, fabric softener and anything alkaline — they strip the wool's natural lanolin. Air dry away from radiators and direct sun; heat hardens the backing. Airing the room regularly does more for a wool chair than any cleaning product.

Frame Color is the wood — Wood or Black; Color is the shearling — Beige, Camel, White or Bronze. The chair is built in two layers of choice. Frame Color changes the red oak frame: Wood keeps the natural grain visible, Black is a painted finish that reads more graphic. Color changes the shearling on the seat and back. Every combination is the same price, which gives you eight looks from one design — a natural frame with cream shearling for a light, French-antique room, or a black frame with bronze for something closer to Art Deco. If you want to see the wool in person before choosing, order swatches from the link on the product page.

Yes to swatches — order them from the product page before you commit to a color. Shearling photographs differently under different light, and the four colors here are close enough that a swatch is worth the wait: the Order Swatches link on this page sends you the actual material. On delivery, small- to medium-sized items ship via FedEx to your door; oversized or fragile pieces come through a local freight carrier with curbside service, and White Glove delivery can be selected at checkout on applicable products or quoted on request. If assembly is a deciding factor for you, contact us before ordering — we don't publish an assembly step for this chair on the page yet.
